Installing different types of RAM experiment

Posted by onald in June 10th 2009

Well, I’m still owned a Pentium 4 PC266 mobo and still tuned fine. I recently received a PC400 from an officemate. So, I wonder if I will do a memory upgrade experiment. Of course everything was research first. Both memory stick are within the motherboard specification upon consulting to its manual, so I give it a shot. If you’re not sure how to install a memory on your PC here is a tutorial.

PC400 512 MB DDRPC266 512 MB DDR

Posted by onald in June 6th 2009

BIOS Beep Codes

Posted by onald in May 10th 2009

When a computer is first turned on, or rebooted, its BIOS performs a power-on self test (POST) to test the system’s hardware, checking to make sure that all of the system’s hardware components are working properly. Under normal circumstances, the POST will display an error message; however, if the BIOS detects an error before it can access the video card, or if there is a problem with the video card, it will produce a series of beeps, and the pattern of the beeps indicates what kind of problem the BIOS has detected. …..Click here to read more
